Health Careers Promotion

Desert Mountain AHEC has a goal to increase the number of students who choose to enter health care careers through a variety of activities that include:

• Providing classroom health career presentations.

• Assisting schools in developing Youth Health Service Corps (YHSC) programs for high school students.

• Partnering with schools and other community agencies to provide special learning and career exploration events like Journey to Medical School, Journey to Nursing School, Pathway to a Bright Future, Ready, Set, Go on the Road, Opening Doors to Your Future and the Teddy Bear Clinic.

• Partnering with colleges and universities to provide resources to foster career interests and professional development.

• Participating at career and health fairs.
